EXPLORE, LEARN & GROW WITH OUR
School Programs
At the Northern Rockies Museum of Culture and Heritage, our school programs are designed to ignite curiosity and foster a deep understanding of the past through hands-on, interactive learning experiences. Tailored to meet curriculum outcomes, our programs offer students of all ages the opportunity to explore history, science, and the natural world in a dynamic and engaging way. Whether it’s through discovering the life of a fur trader, becoming a botanist for a day, or unraveling the mysteries of the stars, students will leave with a richer appreciation of the world around them. Join us for an educational journey where history comes alive!

Explore how we saw, see, experience, and use the sky above us. This 1-hour talk covers light, sextants, and telescopes. Students will handle sextants and learn the basics of their use to collect light from heavenly bodies and compare it with earthly vistas. The session includes a comparison of how voyageurs and astronauts use technology to understand their world using the sky.
