Birch Tree Art

Let’s get up close and personal with the trees! First, students will learn how an identification key works and will identify tree species around the museum or their school. Then, we’ll create a multi-layered art project on canvases, depicting a vibrant birch forest.

Travelling Program: This program can take place at the museum or in your classroom.

  • Students will work with textures, colours, and tone in their paintings.

  • Students will extend brush skills, mix paints on the canvas to acheive a natural effect, and will combine paint with masking tape for a resist technique.
