Our History, Our Town

 
 

Take a trip into the past through the doors of your town’s museum! In this program, students will connect local history, landmarks, and nature to Alberta’s historical context. Animal skulls, artifacts, local landmarks, and games all come together in an engaging experience.

Travelling Program: This program can take place at the museum or in your classroom.

    Learning Outcome: Students investigate natural and created features of Alberta.

    • Students will work to match historic photos with modern photos of local landmarks.

    Learning Outcome: Students relate diversity to Alberta’s western identity.

    • Students will interact with and discuss local historical artifacts.

    Science, Living Systems

    Learning Outcome: Students analyze and describe how plants and animals interact with each other and within environments.

    • Students will examine animal skulls from local wildlife species.

    • Students will play an interactive game about the food chain.
