Tracks to Trucks (2026)

 
 

Towns in the Yellowhead region are here because of the tracks, the trains, and the trucks! In this program, your students take a journey into the world of natural resource communities and transportation. Our local history is uniquely suited to illustrate how natural resources create communities! Buckle up for a journey through time, on all kinds of vehicles!

Travelling Program: This program can take place at the museum or in your classroom.

Cost: $50 per class
Duration: 1.5 hours

 

Curriculum Outcomes

  • Social Studies, Time and Place

    Learning Outcome: Students examine major physical regions of Canada.

    • Students will learn what makes our region of Canada interesting and unique.

    Social Studies, Systems

    Learning Outcome: Students examine how trade supports communities.

    • Students will discover how natural resources created and maintain Hinton, and why that makes their hometown special!
